Thanksgiving Questions Answered

Molly goes just about every where with us these days. Since Shadow died she sticks to us like glue. Here she is in the van looking at the falling snow and the front of our house.

Mom finishing her famous pumpkin pie! Yummy! She insisted we go to my sister's house in Albuquerque because last year her pies did not come out right. She thinks it is because we live at 7,000 feet above sea level.

We had a very nice Thanksgiving Dinner at my Mom's house. I think we had 22 people in all. All that cooking paid off! We ate until we were stuffed and then we played Apples to Apples and then we ate some more! Isaac was still feeling a little under the weather so he was not his charming self. Eric was just busy being a little boy touching everything in sight. By the time we left it had started to snow. When we woke up on Friday morning there was about 2 inches of snow covering the ground. It continued to snow all day so we took advantage of the pretty winter day and built a big fire and watched movies all day! Barbara and Bob had plans for the day so later that evening we went back to Mom's to see everyone. We actually got in a quick sewing session with Barbara. She is our expert quilter who inspires us to get things done! She showed us how to make a flannel and jean quilt. It was really easy and went fast. Now I just need time to get it finished. While we were there my little Eric touched the hot wood burning stove with his cute little baby hand and burned it. It got a big blister on it the next day but doesn't seam to bother him at all. Hopefully he won't touch the stove again! Saturday Barbara and Bob left back for Johnstown, CO. Before they really hit the road we had to make some very important stops. We had to go Southwest Decoratives (a quilt shop) and to Lotta Burger! They just love the green chile burgers there! We had a great time with them here and wish they would have stayed longer.

Today, Sunday, we got the boys all ready for church and drove the seven miles to Edgewood to our church building. Both boys were asleep by the time we got there. They have both been sleeping bad and not feeling well so we decided to take turns sitting in the car with them so we could get the things done we needed to at church and get back home. This was a good decision. Isaac was coughing a lot and Eric had a runny nose. We decided to start putting up the Christmas tree when we got home. This year the Christmas tree will be a challenge with a little boy and baby wanting to touch it all the time!

What is Thanksgiving?

We eat food and pass out chocolate milk. Me and Dad and Eric play knock down then pig. (Knock down the pig is a game created by my parents. They have a toy pig they place at the bottom of a ramp which they then drive little cars down and knock it over.)

How do you cook a turkey?

Get a really big turkey, add grapes, throw it in the oven at 36 degrees for 40 minutes. That's it!
